Top 3 Kayak Fishing Lakes in Denver.

Top 3 Kayak Fishing Lakes in Denver.

Looking for the best place In Denver to go kayak fishing?  The options are endless. Here are our three favorite and most kayak friendly lakes in the Denver metro region.

  1. Quincy Reservoir (City of Aurora Pass Required). Quincy reservoir is the most opportune place to land a bass from your new kayak. Open to electric only boats, you won’t have to worry about wakes or other recreational boats wizzing past you.
  2. Bear Creek Lake Park (Lakewood Parks Pass Required).  Although tough fishing recently, Bear Creek Lake Park is a great place to paddle and try your luck at the elusive Saugeye. This is also a no-wake lake but you’ll occasionally catch a boat out there with an outboard.  Get there early or later in the afternoon to avoid the crowd.
  3. Arvada Reservoir (City of Arvada Parks Pass Required). We also love Arvada Reservoir for kayak fishing because you can hook up with atleast 3-4 species on a typical day. Smallmouth, walleye, and surprisingly trout are all active.  Plus, another electric only boat reservoir.

Let us know what other lakes should be included on this or featured in our next blog post below.

Tight lines.
